A: There is power and phone services from West Liscomb Point Rd (which skirts the properties). The power company pays for one power pole into your property, additional poles are installed at a cost to the land owner. Cable TV is available via Satellite as is High Speed Internet. However high speed internet will soon be available in the area from EastLink (which does not require a Satellite and is competitively priced)

Q: How would water and septic service work in this area?
A: Water would come from a well on your land and your will need to install a septic system.

Q: Do Americans have to pay extra taxes or penalties to buy land in Canada?
A: No. The taxes and fees are the same for foreigners to buy land in Canada as they are for Canadians. In Nova Scotia the HST is 13% of the sale price and can change from year to year.

A: The nearest town to buy groceries is Sherbrooke about 29 minutes drive. Sherbrooke also has banking services, a drug store, a well stocked liquor store, hardware and building building supplies and a few restaurants. You may also find these facilities in Antigonish and New Glasgow.
